On 1 May 2021 I was appointed Superior of the Monastery of St. Saviour of Mount Irago by the Archabbot of St. Ottilien, Father Wolfgang Öxler. I am no stranger to the history of this foundation. I am returning to the Camino de Santiago after ten years in Germany. The time is very special, because we have to overcome the Coronavirus crisis. But we also have to establish a new community of monks. Jesus once said to Nicodemus that the Spirit blows where he wills: you hear his voice, but no one knows where it comes from or where it goes. This same Spirit has blown in a few months on our Community, opening new paths towards the future. For my part, I can only put myself at the service of the brothers who pass by our monastery. I believe that this monastic presence has a great missionary force in our western society. I hope that this monastery will continue to be a place of prayer and welcome. I send you cordial greetings.
